At Helm’s Deep, Éomer raised the blade with the battle cry, “Gúthwinë for the Mark!” He later fought with it at the Pelennor Fields and carried it to the Black Gate of Mordor. The sword represents Éomer’s bravery, loyalty, and devotion to the people of Rohan.
